Oh man, everything the vague Internet consensus has said about this film is true. It's zany, totally unhinged, and tons of fun.
One thing more, though: it hits my sweet spot as a film that works as a sharp critique of modernity. Along with a handful of other late 80's films (RoboCop, How to Get Ahead in Advertising) it stands as an act of resistance to the creeping consumerism of the New Society. Good times.
