    The Mist


    A decade later and this basically shows you how Trump got in to power: circumstantial rhetoric. 
    We all knew certain bad things would happen, but Trump – like the religious one here – claims to be predicting the future with ambiguity. 'Bad will happen', bad happens, 'I told you so' and then people start to buy into that crap. It's essentially seeing the people who voted for him here. Darabont has predicted it himself, through a really cynical outlook on America as a society. Sadly, it's actually worse than his prediction.

    Kinda horrible, but oddly great in ways because of it. When you read there outline and find out it's not a comedy, you think it may be the most hilarious thing you watch. That's not the case though. It's bizarre, silly at times, but the whole film with Mann's hyperstylised realism works more than it doesn't.

    Prepare for a rant...

    Right, everyone talked shit about this film so much so that I couldn't believe that everyone hated it that much. It felt almost forced to hate it. Reasons like Jaden Smith's acting were top of the list but then people become cynical because M. Night Shyamalan was the director and then the fact that it was Will Smith using his son as a prop. Now I went in completely bewildered that people could hate such a…
