Minari is as soulful as many films get. It’s a pure, beautiful story about The American Dream, and often the futility of its ofttimes falsely-promised ideal of fully optimistic success. Performances cultivated with so much heart and personality that define the film and how crucial it is, even in its continual stillness. Lee Isaac Chung’s film is authentic, divine, personal and such a delight at times, and I truly do hope A24 backs this very strongly because it’s their best-produced work.
