Quentin Tarantino All-Nighter #5 [35mm]

ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD is truly Tarantino’s magnum opus; a true, reminiscent work of art that so passionately exhibits his love and passion for filmmaking and cinema.

It’s simply the best cinematic achievement of 2019 - it’s a transporting film that reminisces upon the Golden Age of Cinema in the 1960s, and with that reminiscence lovingly laments the crafts and culture behind 60s filmmaking.

It’s truly spectacular to see how Tarantino has developed his craft over his career. A sense of maturity has also accompanied the growth of his craft and this is the film where he got to truly exercise his mature understanding of his craft and the experience he has gained.

It is quite the perfect film in many regards, from its transportive and reminiscent feel to it’s very hip and nostalgic soundtrack compilation, to its constructively developed characters. It is just perfect and the easiest film to simply sit, watch and play along with. Yes, the perfect “vibe” film.

Quentin Tarantino has officially become one of my new favourite directors. This marathon has helped me realise just how insanely good he is in crafting his own special aesthetic and feel for his films, that are so distinctly ‘Tarantino’. His filmography will go down in the history books as one of the best out there; he’s truly one of the greats and I’m so glad I got to participate in a marathon of his best films. A master of film.
