Haven't seen this for a good few years, and was surprised by just how much of it I still remember. The plot is just a touch too loose in parts for it to be truly perfect, but the comedy is so good that it sure gets close. The famous scenes are obviously the ones people talk about the most, but almost every scene features some kind of subtle gag at a minimum. It may be short, but it sure is densely packed.

Watched for the first time in a few years and I'm happy to report Blade still absolutely rules. If you can overlook the janky 90s CGI (or, better yet, embrace it), Blade manages to be ridiculous, funny, cool and somewhat dark all at once. There's something about the snappiness of the action that just makes it feel like a comic book and I am here for it.

the only interesting thing about this film is the swimming pool that magically pulls the clothes off the main boy's body in about 2 seconds when he jumps into it. Otherwise utterly forgettable

At its core it's a teen romcom with a good heart and likeable characters, but it also (from an outsider's perspective) seems to know when to take itself seriously. Better represention in films is better for everyone, and that this can exist as a mostly lighthearted film is a great thing indeed.
