Aliens 1986
While Alien is a austere and terse art house film, Aliens is a crowd-pleasing blockbuster firing at all cylinders. Wisely choosing not to repeat the same beats/genre from the original, Cameron expands the universe with bombast and scale while somehow not overwhelming the audience (which was just me saying out loud to no one "THAT WAS AWESOME")

Back to the Future 1985
There are moments where the dialogue is a little too on the nose and there are definitely some huge leaps of logic that funnier comedians and more astute film critics have pointed out, but at the end of the day it's a gift to know my favorite movie in middle school is an undeniable masterwork.

Nathan for You: Finding Frances 2017
"It's easy to look at someone else's life as a cautionary tale. After all, no one wants to be old and filled with regret. But if you look closer and see that that life is filled with moments of sincere joy, however fleeting, it's hard to say if it was really a bad life after all."
damn.

Game Night 2018
This is... one of the best studio comedies of the last decade. An instant classic I can totally see being in rotation.
