Licorice Pizza

Licorice Pizza ★★★★

I do think it's okay if a director decides to make a movie that's mostly littered with vignettes from his buddy's stories of his youth, especially if it's a director - one with only hits and no misses - that can keep you engaged even if you're not fully on board. This is also just consistently funny, with examples like the realistic awkwardness of Gary's teen buddies or a raging cokehead Bradley Cooper busting through the city like Godzilla.

This thing really runs on a tightrope of dropping discourse bombs, but also I think a lot of people are going to learn that movies don't need to make their characters do only condonable actions!
