I've seen this twice. I'll save my praise for a forthcoming review, but there are three nagging logistical issues that I have with Us, that are far from deal breakers, but worth commenting on nonetheless:

1) In 1986 videocassettes were still priced for rental. It wasn't until 1987 that they began to be priced for consumers, with Top Gun being the first at $27. It is highly unlikely that young Adelaide's family would have a copy of The Goonies, The Right Stuff and C.H.U.D. on VHS at that time.

2) This is the second Jordan Peele film that has been altered from its theatrical trailer. When Gabe is outside with the baseball bat, in the trailer he punctuates his line If you wanna get crazy, we can get crazy. by tapping the baseball bat twice. It became engrained in my head after two viewings, to the point that I would walk around my house impersonating him because I thought it was so cool. The scene is completely different in the actual film, and not as memorable, even though I understand why it was changed.

3) It's much more likely that the Tyler's SMART home would respond by playing a song from The Police, instead of NWA's Fuck Tha Police, when Kitty asked for the police to be called.

Again, just a few frustrations in an otherwise flawless viewing experience, which certainly do not take away from the film's quality, but which I haven't heard a single person mention.
