sneaked in a min or two late at glimmerglass, sat on the floor in incredible discomfort - did not care at ALL. staggeringly n heartbreakingly human. at the end of the screening just before the lights went up, i noticed that the man sitting next to me (or rather the legs resting beside my face) looked just like my brother. i was already crying from the film — needless to say i left in an overwhelmed mess of tears and emotion. cinémá!!!!
I treasure this movie bc it is my best friend’s favorite but secretly I would like to punch Ethan Hawke and his vapid and insufferable conversations in the mouth. It makes Isha happy though so I won’t.
I do commiserate with leaving someone you love at the train station, though. Painful uncertainty, ephemerality! It won me over a little bit by the end. I anticipate liking the sequels better.....
