more a paroxysm, than a film, tearing out everything from inside: guts open, and the pain is unbearable, pain is unbearable, pain is unbearable.

isn't like these kind of hollywood action b-movies are the exquisite examples of formalist cinema? you simply put yourself to the stream of images that contorts you in a way there's no need to look beyond the appearance. what appears is how it feels, and it feels like the distance is consumed by the inability to judge oneself out of this situation: seriously, how does one judges out of this situation? the form gobbles you, consumes you, and ludicrously leaves, while you keep on questioning the nature of careless desire to be gobbled.

plotless, shallow incarnation of doomer cinema, pretending to swallow itself as something that is ultra autonomic, full of reactionary politics (shallowly executed, trivially domesticated), mindlessly conducting cultural (reproductive) archetypes as something that is a priori. visually it is highly pleasing, joaquin is mesmerizing - yet i am not sure these aspects belong here in this film; joker is a fetishized cinematic suicide, only not aware of its ideological superficiality and flatness
