order of the favorites means nothing :)
honestly, this was just bland. i wasn’t expecting a masterpiece or anything but the plot did seem fairly interesting when i read the synopsis. this was the most “okay” film i’ve ever seen if that makes sense. it was a pretty good watch and i mildly enjoyed it for the most part idk there are just too many stories like this to make this film the one you watch. i just felt so so so indifferent about it tbh. if you want a slow burn russian thriller involving a young person on the run, go watch Zvyaginstev’s Loveless
i shouldn’t even have to say it but this is Iñárritu’s masterpiece and it’s not even debatable. This is one of the best rewatches I’ve ever had
At Eternity’s Gate- Julian Schnabel
“When facing a flat landscape, I see nothing but eternity… am I the only one to see it?”
At Eternity’s Gate is the type of poetry that makes me remember not only what art can achieve but also what it means to me in its truest form. I see the artist in myself as a different entity from the child in myself, the student in myself, etc. and At Eternity’s Gate helped me finally understand…
this wasn’t a comedy this was a horror film for people like myself with social anxiety
i just had 11 heart attacks i need to peel myself off the ceiling and breathe into a brown paper bag for at least 25 minutes
this was really cool but the ending left the whole thing feeling really incomplete in my opinion
