A decent whodunit (sorry, “whodonut”), but the more I dissect it the more disappointed I am. That murderer’s row cast was largely squandered, the twists and turns were unbearably predictable and my god, that ending/what it’ll mean to our red-hat wearing relatives is gonna have the opposite impact Johnson clearly intended. But I’ll give him this, his dialogue & wit is still sharp as a tack at its best, and like all smart directors he continues to surround himself with the same talented craftsmen on his projects regardless of size, and guided by his cinematic vision they brilliantly deliver as always. But looks aren’t everything.
That’s just me being honest, like our leading lady I’ll vomit if I lie. And unfortunately I’m not sure if all these fawning five star reviews & glowing tweets y’all keep sending are for the movie, or for Rian.
