Unbelievably cool practical monster designs - needed at least 10 more minutes of them, this took waaaaaay too long to really get going.

Body Snatchers 1993
I enjoyed the moving of the action from “regular life” to a military base, where conformity and uniform thought is already encouraged. Some fun implications there. Unfortunately the whole thing ends up feeling a little too slight compared to the bugnuts body horror thriller that is the 70s version (a personal fave of mine). Some wonderful effects tho, and the kid and Meg Tilly are really, really good. That Meg Tilly scene genuinely might be one of my favorite acting moments I’ve watched this year. Just absolutely chilling. Pure evil. Go off, Meg.
