Flawless filmmaking. This is the Coens at their absolute best. One of the only moves that continues to stress me out the whole time regardless of how many times I watch it. Javier is a force to be reckoned with. I could watch him and Josh Brolin play this incredibly violent chess game all day long.

Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)

If they didn't try quite so hard this could've been really great. It was a little too self aware, a little too in your face, and a bit too ridiculous. Despite that it still stands as one of the best DC movies in the new generation. Fun fights, great choreography, pretty colors, and a few genuinely funny moments. It's truly a comic book brought to life on screen. No serious complaints. I can only hope that this is an indication for where DC is heading going forward.

I wish I could say that I was in love with this movie. It's good, it's funny, it has a solid cast, and the budget that it deserved. But even with all that there is something missing. It just seems to be trying a little too hard to get laughs and not quite putting in the effort to make sure everything else fits together. It's a lot like the Deadpool comic, a bit of a nonsense story just so he…
