Old is a rare and kooky thriller that ponders big questions without being ponderous. It's conventional in places, nuts in others. Well-paced but leaves space for grace notes that save secondary characters from being mere allegories for ways to waste your life. Don't bother with vanity, workaholism, anxiety or narcissism.
