This kinda felt like a feature-length TED Talk. But a really good one. Within it's glossy, streamlined packaging, Homecoming King paints a beautiful, and important portrait of the immigrant experience in the US. Also pretty funny. I'm certainly a fan of Hasan Minhaj now.

Eugghhhhh. This film is disgusting and horrible. But it’s so so smart, and controlled. It knows exactly what its doing, and what it’s doing is disturbing me. It is so brutal, and realistic in its depiction of its violence. It’s not paced like a traditional horror film. The first three characters to get killed are murdered within the space of 15 minutes. There is so much imagery and action that is burnt in my brain, and I’m sure will inform…
