I am continuously amazed at how fresh and modern something this old can seem. Tom Courtenay reminds me of Ewen McGregor something terrible. Or rather the other way around. Inherent Vice 2014
This was the last of his films I needed to see to be caught up after seeing Phantom Thread late last year. It doesn’t disappoint that’s for sure; meaning it’s everything you want a PT Anderson film to be: warm yet sinister and beautiful yet scarred. I honestly don’t know if he’s ever used makeup on his female characters. They always look so stripped and plain.
