Nothing is more gut-wrenching than tears falling from the googly eye of a personified mollusk shell. In 89 minutes of runtime the audience is taken on a small scale adventure much like the videogame franchise Katamari-Domacy. In Katamari, the player takes small objects placed in a room and rolls around to become bigger and bigger, eventually capable of collecting trees, homes, buildings, and more. It makes you see the world as a collection of things within your grasp, all you…

TÁR 2022
Tár the film, much like it’s maestro of the same name, are drenched and shivering in the shadows. The maestro flitting between responsibilities with often flippant behavior that lacks empathy, but entangles with the forbidden explorations of love. The film cloaks the silver screen in a pantone of black, masking the images at times in chilling shrouds to mislead the viewer from what’s taking place on screen.

Lux Æterna 2019
Much preferred the strobe-work and concept of CLIMAX, personally. While there’s some neat stylistic choices made, there’s also some mediocre ones at best. The plot was far too bare for my liking, leaving too much to imagination. That ending was wild, those with seizure disorders or extreme sensitivity to light are warned! Also, don’t pick up your phone after finishing this one like I did 😂

The Lighthouse 2019
If there isn’t a best actor duel on stage between Dafoe and Pattinson, I’ll eat my fucking shoe.
A fucking joy ride, mates. I ate every second of this up. My boyfriend hated it, but so it is.A tale of a crusty old prune and a young buck finding his legging as a wickie. What starts as cautionary folklore, transcends to extreme madness at sea. The cinematography dripping in piss and shit; the score booming at every waves’ crash. The best of lines referring to the defecation of rare meat. What isn’t to love? WHAT.
