Richard Nelson’s review published on Letterboxd:
When I was 21 I thought Sunset was good but not a patch on Sunrise. Now I'm 32 and I get it so much more.
Even aside from personal identification, it's so well performed. The way they both look at each other when the other one's not looking, it says so much. And forget 2001 — this has the greatest jump cut linking two different times and places ever.
I kept realising throughout the film that I was involuntarily smiling — mirroring them. I want to hang out with Celine and Jesse forever.
No pressure, Midnight.
