I learned so much from this window into the culture of high school young women in present day Indonesia. The actress playing the lead was the key to my interest in this coming-of-age story. She conveyed to complexity of her dilemmas--the most important being to accept her marriage proposals or to go further into her interest in science and math after high school.
Intimate and yet universal truths were portrayed sensitively amidst the rural/ city life in Indonesia.
