    Rewind and Play

So it was rushes we were watching.

What bores into me is the sweat and pores of his skin. The part where he just plays while he is waiting.

All this background about being ignored is righteous but without knowing about it, changes the experience of the film.

Thus my lowish score. Originally at two stars out of five. I've since read reviews giving me some background.

I'm still saying that the film on itself does not show this clearly…

  • Sleeping with Strangers

    Sleeping with Strangers

This movie's setting is a wonderful feature as it was filmed entirely on the west coast of Canada, in Sooke, British Columbia. Aside from Shelly there was some thoughtful acting from Alastair Duncan and luminescent Kim Huffman. It was painful to watch the acting of the rock star, Todd Warren, played by Scott McNeil.
The storyline was strong enough and had some twists to where even the ending was a nice surprise.
Again experiencing another layer of Shelly's acting was the real gift here. She played a promiscuous actor, and sleeping with strangers was her thing. Then she met the lodge owner played by Duncan.

  • Grind

I'm doing a character study project of the characters that Adrienne Shelly plays. This was a different side of her, and I very much appreciated seeing another view of Adrienne Shelly.
I thought Billy Crudup was pretty one-dimensional. What if Shelly had been with a different actor? Hmmmm the possibilities.
