Smashing Chaplin film. I'm pretty sure I've seen this before (I remember the boxing ring scene and the restaurant/club scene).
He really balances the highs and lows of the Tramp's love story with the Flower Girl and his frenemy The Millionaire. I really liked how once the Millionaire betrays the Tramp for one last time he disappears from the narrative. Spectacular physical comedy. I also really liked how Chaplin used sound effects in the score like the whistle since this is a silent film in the early sound era.
(I also noticed that there were several Black actors in the movie - in the background and also the boxer who helps the Tramp out)
