Florence Foster Jenkins ★★★

65/100

With its real-life sitcom premise making for both a distinctly pre-Internet story yet a surprisingly timely one, Florence Foster Jenkins is a polite, well-cast period piece that can never quite seem to make itself comfortable on either side of the comedy-drama line.

From now on, Rebecca Ferguson should never be cast in anything that doesn't take place in the '40s.
