I was 8 when I rented my first movie from Blockbuster, Jeepers Creepers, back in early 2002. I didnβt even really know what I was getting myself into, but boy was I terrified after.Β The scene where Trish and Darry spot the Creeper dumping those bodies, him standing there watching as they drove alongΒ andΒ the scene at night where heβs posted up on the Scarecrow stand... will forever haunt me. I donβt remember Blockbusterβs rental policy around this time, but I doβ¦
The CGI croc was more convincing than the βstraight jocksβ
One of the better Syfy budget 00s creature features but thatβs not saying a whole lot. If you donβt mind subpar acting, a lazy score and cringe 00s drama then this might be up your alley as itβs a fun, albeit cheesy croc flick.Β I miss those Syfy creature feature marathons on the weekends. Indeed a throwbackΒ hehe.

My issues with The Rental 1) it drags tf out and tries to be a bunch of things wrapped up in one, and 2) who the hell is there to root for? Every one of these characters is insufferable. When you haveΒ me rolling my eyes at DAN STEVENS and ALISON BRIE..... This is one of those movies that insults the viewerβs intelligence by βsurprisingβ them with twist after twist. Second time watching so I knew going in this time toβ¦

I used to rewind and rewatch the Wannabe by Spice Girls scene so it was the one scene I recognized shot for shot, that and the crazy barbie dolls π
I had some laughs reliving Small Soldiers (and still love the songs featured) but I certainlyΒ enjoyed it more when I was 7. The first hour is a bit of a drag to get through, but once the hilarious Commandos realize they gotta take out the humans in order to getβ¦
