If we're talking about ensemble mystery movies in the tradition of Agatha Christie's Hercules Poirot films like Evil Under the Sun or Lumet's Murder on the Orient Express, and if we're making a list of the best ever made, Knives Out is at the top of that list. This is as good as the genre gets. Best of breed. Rian Johnson embraced the genre, didn't try to make it something it wasn't, and stuck the landing in a big way.
