    The script is fine. The acting, is occasionally cringe inducing. YET, the cinematography is great, the editing is tight, and this film gets to the jaded nostalgia that American Graffiti only wishes it could have captured.

    There are so many subtle things that set this movie apart. Hugh Jackman's performance is exceptional and deep. I was amazed about halfway through, to notice the code switching he used between a long island accent, and a flatter academic one. The way he used his appearance. It wasnt just the makeup, or the extra extra pounds around his waste, but the way he embodied those aspects of the character.
