Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

This is a very long, yet very enjoyable film by Tarantino. Like Inglourious Basterds, every minute felt justified in this film, and I was never bored throughout the runtime.

The acting overall is pretty fantastic; Leo DiCaprio is spectacular in the lead role and Brad Pitt is a perfect accompaniment to him. Margot Robbie is charming as always and the rest of the supporting cast was great, I didn’t think there was a weak performance. I loved these characters and…

    Julien Donkey-Boy

I started watching this film a week or so ago. It was late at night, I was exhausted, and the film didn't really click with me. I decided to turn it off in order to get some sleep, and I didn't get back around to it. I started it over again today with the intent of finishing it, hoping that maybe with a bit of sleep in me I would get a completely different view of the film, and end…

    It Chapter Two

It Chapter Two is a genuinely fun and entertaining 3 hour epic. I went in with somewhat low expectations, but I was actually pretty surprised. It doesn’t quite top the first film for me, but it’s pretty close.

Like the first film, my main complaint with the film would have to be the majority of the horror aspect. While it has a bit more variety than the first, it’s pretty much full of weak jump scares. Even the decent horror…

    “Time to float.”

    Minor Spoilers Throughout

It is everything a Hollywood blockbuster should be. It’s nowhere near perfect, but it’s heavily entertaining, well made, and the comedy (mostly) works. I can’t say I’m a huge fan of most of the horror aspects of the film, not including the opening scene and the scenes inside the Neibolt house. The film loses a lot of potential in that aspect but instead of using legitimately creepy and great moments, like the sewer scene,…

Enemy has so much to offer under the surface level. It’s so odd and unconventional but it’s definitely fantastic.

The Positives: Fantastic performance by Gyllenhal, spectacular score, unique color scheme, excellent cinematography, unique storyline

The Negatives: Some iffy plot points in the second half

This film is definitely not for everyone. It’s definitely not conventional in its storytelling but it kept me hooked the whole way through. 9/10

It appears that this is my 499th film. We’re getting extra close now

What an experience this was. This is a 90 minute nightmare and I loved every second of it. This is my first film from Gaspar Noe and I'm excited as well as nervous to see what else he has in store.

The Positives: Noe's direction and camerawork in this film is absolutely masterful. There are 10-15 minute long one-takes where the camera does all sorts of acrobatics throughout. The fact that most of this film was improvised makes it even…
