Went in with low expectations, and they were exceeded! Not sure what it means when the villain is the most sympathetic, fleshed-out character, though.

This was, I have to say, the strongest ensemble piece Marvel’s produced to date. The Avengers had a better script, but was visually inconsistent; 2 Avengers 2 Ultron staggered under the size of its cast and a murky script, but, well, hey, James Spader. Civil War’s a much sleeker product, balancing old and new members of the roster alike. (A few favorites: I thought Chadwick Boseman was perfectly cast; Paul Rudd and Tom Holland steal every scene they’re in.)
