as with tonya's figure skating, this film is technically super solid; the outfits and scenes of the actual skating events recreated perfectly, a smashin' awesome soundtrack. and that triple axel???!!

not sure how to explain what exactly didn't work for me; halfway through I got so fascinated by real tonya's story that I really wanted to google it and check all the facts, and then I became distracted. but maybe this is a good thing too, just not from the perspective of a filmgoer..... 

my own evaluation of this film makes me feel like a hypocrite for being angry with tonya harding about the media. hMM
