I'm surprised it took me this long to see this but I'm glad I finally did! A film that was fairly elusive as far as 80s horror goes, it would creep into my mind from time to time. And that all white poster art was pretty memorable back in the day! While not as polished as the original this sequel is still loaded with 80s charm. And it has a freakin rollerblading vampire!
Charley Brewster has spent the last three years getting therapy to deal with all of the traumatic vampire insanity from the first film. As he tries to come to terms with what he experienced he tells himself that it was all just a faded memory. But when a colourful new horde of vampires moves into his apartment block Charley is thrown into another vicious nightmare!
There's a noticeable step down in quality and I couldn't help but feel like some of the magic from the first film was missing. Despite this there's still enough enjoyable qualities to make it a decent enough sequel. The colourful 80s style, a bomb score, the zany cast of villians and special FX are all highlights. Gotta love those melty corpses and large bat creatures! I'll be revisiting this again.
