Wow that was really something wasn't it!? I'm really glad I went in blind. Like a runaway freight train housing dozens of wild ideas and an unconventional sense of ambition. A real breath of fresh air from all of the repetitive ideas and bland style of most modern horror films. I just love how it wasn't afraid to constantly evolve to greater heights of over the top insanity.
The spontaneous B movie energy filtered through a lens of a polished big budget picture provided unique layers of depth and depravity. Like a slick crime drama, suspenseful supernatural frightfest and a shlocky creature feature rolled into one. And splashed with early 2000s CGI and Matrix style FX...what a trip! Really hope Wan continues to explore this dementedly entertaining corner of his brain.
