harper’s review published on Letterboxd:
was sent loads of ball's comic books as a kid from some family that live in NZ, and eventually was sent a copy of this film on vhs. watched it too many times to count in the 90s: it was a fond fixture of my childhood.
this is the first time i've watched it as an adult, and it definitely evokes an aged sorted of fun. has a lot of humour that i obviously glossed over as a child, not a lot happens but the music is really good - not something i remember from my original viewings. horse is the standout character for sure.
added an extra half star purely for familial nostalgia.
