In short, Y tu mamá también is a coming-of-age, road trip film featuring a lot of graphic sex. But of course it is much more than that. It is both vulgar and tender. It is both vulnerable and guarded. It is profoundly touching. I don't love too many coming-of-age films because they're prone to be filled with cliché's, but this is one of the better ones. This is magnificent.
