    Joaquin Phoenix can honestly do no wrong. This is a film with beautiful direction, cinematography, an incredibly brutal screenplay and a moving musical score. However the biggest takeaway is that Joaquin Phoenix continues to prove himself as an amazing actor and I really hope him and Lynne Ramsay team up again as this movie was fantastic.

    It may not be the horror many were expecting but this is one damn good movie. Well acted and directed, dripping in suspense and relentlessly bleak, this isn’t a fun or pleasant watch but it’s still a great film. Some have a problem with the film’s lack of answers but personally I really enjoyed the subtlety and overwhelming threat of the unknown. Also this has the most blunt and depressing ending of 2017. A must watch for any film fan.

    Tom Hardy’s insane, hillarious and intense powerhouse performance mixed with absolutely top notch direction from Nicolas Winding Refn makes for an absolutely killer film that has essentially become a stable of British cinema.
