Tense, emotional and the best Z acting I’ve seen for a long while.
I’ll start by saying that I liked this film, but I’m pretty sure I won’t ever watch it again. The performances were brilliant (Pesci in particular), it has the classic Scorsese gangster humour, but it’s probably the first time I’ve ever had a problem with the runtime of a Scorsese film. Going in I had no qualms about the length, if anyone can pull it off Marty can, right? Sadly not this time. However, I’m not hugely disappointed, which is a good thing.
