*sigh* sometimes Fritz Lang got a little too clever for his own good.  Sometimes an out-of-left-field twist is just that and only hurts the film.  This isn't the only movie he does this (see: woman in the window, an otherwise really outstanding noir).  Funny thing is at first I thought this was a different kind of role for Joan Fontaine but by the end of it you are like ok, nope this is the typical role for her.

    The Oblong Box

    ★★½

Has nothing to do with the Edgar Allen Poe story other than it uses the same idea of not knowing the exact identity of someone in a coffin or box. The Man with the Golden Gun

    ★★½

So this time around it seems like they are trying to shed a lot of the Bond movie formula and make something more like a typical action movie. I don't know if the movie has just aged horribly or what, but outside of the limited appearance of the usual "Bond stuff" (MI-6, secret hideouts, actually being a spy) the movie is incredibly mediocre and dull. Christopher Lee appears as the villain but don't get your hopes up, he's really not…
