A little bit of Jaws, Twister, Lake Placid, and some other good Mother Nature/animal attack movies. A little unbelievable at times but overall fun and worth it!
The whole movie feels like you’re watching Milton from “Office Space” go through some Kafka-esque nightmare and it’s done very well. The dry British humor is prevalent throughout and adds to the incredibly unsympathetic atmosphere of this universe. Also loved the color palette to add to the dreariness of everything that gives certain scenes and items a chance to pop with color.
I genuinely love the book for being fun but this didn’t seem fun past the first few minutes. Most of the movie is spent outside of the game which are the most boring parts of the movie. The motivation for the characters to find the Easter eggs didn’t make sense and some of the Easter eggs themselves didn’t make sense. Also, there were little nuances in the movie in general that bothered me because they didn’t make sense. I’d write a list but it’d be too long.
