Ben Nash’s review published on Letterboxd:
An abomination cobbled together in the space of a weekend with a PS2 and a cassette recording of the original soundtrack stolen from a nearby flea market. In an age of generic, micromanaged studio fare its incompetence is almost admirable, but Tom Hooper has neither the self-awareness nor the sense of humour necessary to do anything interesting with it. The way people were talking about this, as if it were some Cronenbergian orgy, need to sit down and have a good long look at themselves in the mirror. A far worse sin than any of its technical shortcomings, or god-awful performances: it was just fucking boring! If this is to be the death knell of the 'wacky' big budget passion project, they could have at least had some fun.
