An incredibly emotionally potent, thrillingly terrifying, masterfully helmed TV series with writing so intelligent it's unfathomable.
The Haunting of Hill House is so far above any other horrors recently because it uses horror personal to the characters to explore who they are and what truly scares them. Upon rewatch the complexities and foreshadowing hidden in plain site thrives in it's invisible spotlight I can now appreciate and it is an astounding achievement in horror and filmmaking.
The characters explored so deeply are truly real, showing Flanagan's beautiful understanding of people and life. Whenever the heart-rending score creeped in, choosing wisely when to go right for the gut, made me tear up everytime without fail.
Mike Flanagan's masterpiece.
