Covers all the same ground as Tree of Life in far more subtle and interesting ways—while also acting as essay on digital modernity and poem of failed love, the tension between both of these forms the parable at the center.

It’s probably Malick’s most existential, indeed, so much is juggled yet there always seems a balance, a divine intuition.
