Bethany’s review published on Letterboxd:
still not exactly sure how I feel about this, mainly because of the final act, but what I know for sure is that Promising Young Woman is not a revenge film, it's about mourning. Carey Mulligan is one of my favorite actresses and she absolutely kills it just like I knew she would. I initially rated this 4 stars but changed it because after thinking about it I just didn't feel right...I definitely need to re-watch this soon, but I still absolutely loved it despite some choices I didn't really agree with. maybe those choices made just reflect on what typically happens in our reality.
EDIT: also, that one review that went viral because the man (lol) who wrote it said something along the lines of Mulligan not being hot enough to play this character and they should have gotten Margot Robbie to do it? excuse me but what in the actual fuck.. I am actually convinced he didn't even watch the film because Carey Mulligan is SO HOT????? like literally so gorgeous? why are men.
