This was exceptional, absolutely Kenneth Branagh’s best directed film so far.
My favourite part of this film has to be the cinematography and mostly the framing of every shot. The shots with deep focus were stunning. One of my particular favourites was when Buddy was talking with his Pop outside and Granny could be seen looking out the window in background, not really being noticeable until she speaks. The almost fly on the wall style of filming was very enjoyable. Bravo to Haris Zambarloukos.
I also loved the use of colour in this film and what it symbolised. With colour mainly being used at the theatre and cinema you can clearly see how this represents escapism for the characters and a sense of joy. The Chitty Chitty Bang Bang sequence was probably my favourite part of the film.
