Another misery fest from Sion Sono's mind adapted from the manga of the same name. It's an uber depressing story about two young teens who are victims of abuse and living in a post-tsunami wasteland. The performances are pretty good, especially the manic neighbor in love with the young boy.
Sono continues his exploration of the degradation of Japanese society through excessive violence and pessimism. Maybe it doesn't reach the same levels of craftsmanship as "Guilty of Romance" or "Love Exposure," but still, it's a good watch if you are in the mood.
