betsy’s review published on Letterboxd:
me: the social network is less a straight retelling of the foundation of facebook and more a story of love, betrayal, and a deep friendship gone sour. david fincher uses the figures instrumental to the story as ways to explore the ties that bind us and how ambition and greed can ruin our relationships with the people we care for the most. it's one of the most compelling movies i've ever seen and some people's reduction of it to "the facebook movie" is disheartening!
also me: [screaming and crying] I NEED YOU I'M HERE FOR YOU NO I NEED THE ALGORITHM YOU USE TO RANK CHESS PLAYERS
