The heist is too smart for there to be any real stakes involved so it feels rather forced whenever there’s conflict. It’s light and mostly fun. It has the type of jokes where you know what the punchline is before it comes. Not a waste of time but I don’t recommend either.
Even better the second time. Jack Nicholson is obviously phenomenal, but I think this film owes much of its brilliance to an excellent ensemble cast. Forman's direction of both the actors and the scenes is masterful. Lovely film.
