Inherent Vice ★★★½

In 1970, drug-fueled Los Angeles detective Larry "Doc" Sportello investigates the disappearance of a former girlfriend.
Altmanesque adaptation of the Thomas Pynchon novel manages to offer - despite the complexity of the original's 'plot' - a coherent line of a story, and very entertainingly so, with some good performances and a splendid one by Joaquin Phoenix.
