Rhythmic, stylish, and too cool for the pool. Perhaps a bit too much bout style over substance, but gorgeous nonetheless. A collage of color and characters and extended musing on the connections missed between people. Fabulously shot (as always) by Christopher Doyle, and yet another masterful piece of improvisational directing by Wong Kar-Wai. Outside of WKW, only Jarmusch and Tarkovsky can get so much beuty out of people not communicating with one another.
