A great pairing of Soderbergh with writer Tarell Alvin McCraney for a sports film that barely shows the sport. It's a film that is built around the characters and performances with Andre Holland very charismatically at the centre of it all. It's familiar territory for Soderbergh as he tries out different camera placements and technology while telling the story of someone who wants more. It is about capitalism, and sports, and entertainment and blends it all together into an entertaining package filled with some fun moments as well.
