A film that I had been wanting to see for a while and it wasn't exactly what I expected. It starts right off with some horrible footage of cows being slaughtered and then a goat being slaughtered as well. It's part of a theme running through the film, but the graphic nature of the scenes put a damper on everything else for me. But aside from that the colours are bright and it's an interesting and loose film blending scenes of Senegal with the influence of the French New Wave.
