    The Legacy That Lars Built

Jack and Lars are one and the same, both are ambitious neurotics who are searching for perfection and this story is a retrospective of their chosen careers. It's easy to take 'The House That Jack Built' at face value and shrug it off as a self indulgent, narcissistic, masturbatory work from Von Trier... and to a certain extent it is that but it's not without meaning.

'The Depression Trilogy' was Von Trier at his most…

Human Nature and Living With Depression

There are two very important films in Lars Von Trier's filmography, the first being 'Breaking the Waves' which saw Von Trier utilize the handheld camera which would go on to be a defining factor of his work. 'Breaking the Waves' also saw Von Trier shift from fantastical, surrealist works (The Europe Trilogy) to films that were much more grounded and realistic (The Golden Heart Trilogy).

    It's a Muppet Life

I watched this once as a kid and the two things I remembered about the film turned out to be completely wrong. I thought Rick Moranis played the angel accountant but it's actually played by a nerdy David Arquette, an understandable mistake. I remembered Pepe having his head slammed inside of a photocopier, he was screaming while a bunch of horrifying shots of his face were spat out of the machine. In reality, Pepe had his…

    Watch Out Incels

It's not your typical home invasion film but I still found the whole thing to be quite predictable. It's quite obvious there's no intruder and that it's just the creepy 12 year old who want's to get with his babysitter. The kid who played the incel was very good but I never found any of the twists surprising which is a real shame because there's some good stuff here but I was kinda just waiting for things to happen. 'Better Watch Out' is a decent Christmas horror flick but nothing too memorable and not something I'd revisit.

Can't believe the Queen will never get to play GTA6 or Overwatch 2. So sad.
